This paper describes a qualitative study that explored patient perceptions about their participation in an N-of-1 study in the area of chronic pain management. The study involved semi-structured interviews with 33 participants and the authors found that participants are enthusiastic about recording and accessing their own data and see value in sharing their N-of-1 data with their clinicians. This study contributes to the limited existing qualitative evidence exploring N-of-1 trials from the perspective of the patient.
